I recently made a pneumatic potato gun. It is made out of PVC pipe and uses air pressure to throw potatoes. some days it works well but sometimes it decides not to work. The first time I used it today it worked but when I tried to video it it wouldn't go. when it works it works well though. here are some pictures of it.
I am planing on putting bigger place to put the air. This was all I could afford at the time. I didn't follow any plans so it's not perfect.
Mom let me have some old potatoes to lanch.
The end of the barrel is sharpened so that the potatoes fit and not let the air go around them.
I use a broom handle to shove the potato into the barrel.
I use an air compressor to put air into this.
This doesn't have anything to do with the potato gun but I thought it was a good picture of Nathaniel.

We launched the trebuchet on Thanksgiving Day. The longest shot was about 40 yards with a hedge apple.
I tried launching a small pumpkin but it wend backwards because it was too heavy.
This is how the sling is attached to the arm. The single rope slides off to release the hedge apple.
This is a video of me launching a hedge apple of Friday. You can see more how it works with the vidio.

We have made some more progress on our floating arm trebuchet. We are almost ready for our first launch which is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day. Our camera's flash wasn't working so the shutter has to be open longer so it is kinda blurry.
We put some wheels on the arm and made the track narrower.
This is one of the buckets that hold the sand.
This is a guide for the hedge apple and the sling.
The ammunition.

I am working on building this floating arm trebuchet.
Here are some pictures of the frame and the arm.
A trebuchet is a device that was used in medieval times to destroy enemy castles.
This one is going to be used to launch hedge ball sized objects.
The weight falls strait down in that slot and wheels on the fulcrum slide on the track.
